Be sure to
disconnect your power plug first! You do not want to eat 240
volts, that will hurt so be safe.
Next
disconnect the two wires on the element, these are where you will be
checking for continuity.
Look at the picture, the two arrows are pointing to the 2 metal
contacts.

Now put a meter lead
on each contact, you should read some amount of continuity through
the element. If you
do not, then the element is broken. Sometimes you could get a false
continuity if the inner
coils are shorted to the frame, but most likely, if you get a
reading, then it is good. Look for a
different culprit to your problem, like say a clogged lint vent.
Be safe and save
money, do it yourself.
